Emmy Awards, le nomination: Shōgun e The Bear in pole position

Annunciate le nomination per la 76a edizione degli Emmy Awards. Shōgun è in testa con 25 nomination, seguito dalla seconda stagione di The Bear con 23 (record per una comedy). Ottime performance anche per Only Murders in the Building (21), la miniserie True Detective: Night Country (19) e l’ultima stagione di The Crown (18). Netflix è lo studio con più candidature, ben 107. I premi saranno consegnati il 15 settembre.

Robert Downey Jr. e Da'Vine Joy Randolph potrebbero vincere un Emmy nello stesso anno in cui hanno ricevuto l’Oscar: i due, infatti, sono candidati rispettivamente come miglior non protagonista per la miniserie Il simpatizzante e miglior guest stary nella comedy Only Murders in the Building. In gara altri interpreti nominati per l’ultima corsa alla statuetta dell’Academy, da Lily Gladstone per la miniserie Under the Bridge a Ryan Gosling per il suo ruolo da host del Saturday Night Live. Snobbata la vincitrice Emma Stone, protagonista di The Curse, la serie creata e scritta da Nathan Fielder e Benny Safdie completamente ignorata dall’accademia televisiva.
