Il 68° Festival di Locarno annuncia il suo programma. Ad inaugurare il festival, in Piazza Grande, l'anteprima mondiale del nuovo film di Jonathan Demme, Ricki and the Flash (da noi uscirà il 10 settembre, distribuito da Warner Bros. con il titolo Dove eravamo rimasti), con Meryl Streep nei panni di una rockstar, personaggio ispirato alla suocera di Diablo Cody, autrice della sceneggiatura del film.
Tra le proiezioni di mezzanotte, il Festival ospita anche l'atteso Southpaw di Antoine Fuqua, con Jake Gyllenhaal e Rachel McAdams, mentre in concorso l'Italia è presente con il nuovo film di Pietro Marcello, Bella e perduta, che il Festival di Locarno presenta in anteprima mondiale.
Bella e perduta di Pietro MarcelloFuori concorso invece troviamo i nuovi lavori di Andrea Segre (I sogni del lago salato), Alberto Fasulo (Genitori), Massimo Coppola (Romeo e Giulietta), oltre all'opera prima di Fabio Leli (Vivere alla grande). Mentre in "Cineasti del presente" gareggia l'opera prima di Nazareno Manuel Nicoletti, Mio fratello.
Come già annunciato in precedenza, poi, Marco Bellocchio ritirerò il Pardo d'Onore del Festival, che il 14 agosto in Piazza Grande ospiterà la proiezione de I pugni in tasca in occasione del cinquantennale del film.
Sempre in Piazza Grande, infine, spazio per Pastorale cilentana di Mario Martone, cortometraggio di 19 minuti.
